San Francisco police apprehended a 20-year-old suspect following an early morning attack on OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's home. The individual allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at the property, burning an exterior gate before fleeing the scene. Authorities captured the suspect an hour later while allegedly making threats against OpenAI's headquarters.

OpenAI confirmed the incident in a staff memo, noting the device extinguished without causing injuries. This marks the second security threat against Altman in recent years, following a 2025 lockdown of OpenAI's offices due to threats from an anti-AI activist.
